A scary situation

So what happens when a patient wakes up after having surgery and is unable to communicate their needs, wants or concerns? Here’s one guys experience:

I woke up after having brain surgery. My head obviously still swollen, I was able to blurt some grunt-like sounds, but clearly nothing that remotely resembled a sentence. Thank god my family was there to communicate for me when I needed. But as night came, and it was time for them to go, I became increasingly worried that if a situation… Continue

Hi Greg,
Yeah they left it and I have a new artery that grew in to replace it. I have 45% heart function. My attack happened on July10, 2007. I have changed my life completely. I have followed all the dietary and work out rules for almost 2 years now. I am dealing some depression issues on a daily basis. I work hard at being healthy and I'm just not getting better. I own 3 businesses. One of them is a logging/sawmill operation. I can't do half of what I used to and there are times when I wish I wouldn't have gotten up off that table. I'm looking for others who deal with this and find out how they accept being half the man they once were. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one.
How long have you been here and am I in the right place?
Thanks,
Steve
