I had just bought a new car that morning, a sleek black 2006 BMW. All excited about my new car, I decided to celebrate a night out with a friend. It was dark, about 8:00 pm as we passed the hospital, on the way to bowling. I immediately slammed on the brakes as a woman jumped out in front of the car. She scared me half-to-death. She was waiving her hands in the air, as if she were trying to get someone's attention. It was then I figured out why she was trying to flag me down. On the side of the road was a man walking with no clothes on. In his wobbly walk, he started to turn toward us. My friend and I thought he was going to try to open the car door and get in. He said "quick lock the doors!" But with this being my new "toy" that I've had for, at most 10 hours, I didn't yet know how to lock the car from the inside, so I yelled with such a nervous tone, "what, I can't find the lock button!"
As luck would have it though, the man actually didn't get in as we thought, and the police showed up not a second later and took care of it. Needless to say, we didn't stick around to find out more. Later we learned that the guy, a patient from the hospital, had somehow just walked right out onto the street.

Talk about your unbelievable experiences: seeing a person jump out in front of the car, and seeing a guy walking nearby with no clothes on. Boy I sure learned some invaluable lessons that night. Upon getting home, I took in the BMW user's guide and read it from cover to cover, paying special attention to the "locking" section.;)
