When I was undergoing my treatment, my parents tell my I passed for a couplae seconds too. I'm a beleiver in that if God brings you back, it's for a good reason; maybe u have unfinished business. My dad passed away the night after my younger sister was married. I'd like to think he "waited" to make sure that she was taken care of. You should think of it that way. You shouldn't feel guilty.

I had a n.d,e, 2 years ago July 10th. I had a major heart attack and died for 28 seconds on the Cath. Lab table. I remember being above the room and looking down on all the activity. I was feeling no pain like I had seconds earlier. I felt good, I felt at peace. I saw a bright light to my right and then it all disappeared. The next thing I remember there was a nurse yelling in my ear...Steve...Steve...and I asked her if I was going to die. She said that I had already done that, but I was going to survive now. I think I was a bit disappointed because I was in pain again. I wanted that feeling back that I had just experienced. I struggled with my feelings for quite some time after that. I wanted to die. I have tried to explain the feeling to my loved ones and my doctors, but they can not grasp the concept or the feeling. I am still struggling with my emotions. Who decides who lives and who dies? Sometimes I feel guilty because I lived. I'm still working on that and it's getting better, but it's still there.

I think I can attest to this in a strange way. One day a couple years ago, I had a bleeding ulcer and was loosing a lot of blood, causing me to go in and out of conciousness. Anyway, at one point on the way to the hospital, I couldnt see anything but a bright white ... like environment is the best way I could describe it. I didn't see anybody or any thing though.
