Rock Climbing - Yosemite National Park

I visited Yosemite National Park a couple years ago, and I don't think it takes much to say "I survived".....even if was just surviving the tour. Does anyone really know just how high those rocks are? I don't necessarily have a fear of heights per say, but I do have a fear of getting close to edges of things that are high up; can't get even get close to railings of my parents condo on the 19th floor.
Anyhow, the park dosen't have side rails or anything and our little tour bus chugged all the way up the sides of those rocks getting extremely close to those edges (if it's not narrow enough). It was extremely scary. At one point, when we were 8,000 feet up, there was a beautiful overlook. I managed to get about half way out, then crawled to about 4 feet from the railing.
That was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to, and one of the scariest. But I survived! :)

that is intriguing......my son is a mountaineer and rock climber.....I cannot think who he inherits this from!!!! He gets an enormous kick out of risk - though having said that he trains well and always had the equipment. Do you think folk get a real kick over surviving something like this?

Well maybe not a "kick" per say, but it usually makes a person feel good to face their fear and "come out smelling like a rose", so to speak.

My cousin is in the military and he says when guys come back they are addicted to adrenaline so they do things like that or some of them go 100mph on motorcycles on the highway and stuff that that.

My husband is in the military, and he loves doing "adrenaline junkie" stuff.
His absolute favorite thing is shooting his large collection of guns. He desperately wants to fly helicopters for the military.
